Naushad Dowlut received the B.Eng.(Hons) degree in Information Systems
Engineering in 1992 and the Ph.D. degree in Digital Communications in 1997, both from Imperial College
of Science, Technology and Medicine, University of London, U.K. He held a postdoctoral fellowship at the
Communications Research Laboratory, McMaster University, Canada, from 1998 to 1999.
He was with
the Toronto Design Centre, Motorola Canada from 2000 to 2003; before joining
Baker Hughes in Toronto, where he is working on automated data analysis for oil
and gas pipeline inspections. His research interests include signal and image
processing, wireless communications and smart antennas. Dr. Dowlut is a Senior Member of the
IEEE and was the recipient of a U.K. Undergraduate Scholarship, a Commonwealth Postgraduate
Scholarship and an IEE Postgraduate Award.
